Pataki signs alternative fuel bill
Legislation designed to make it easier for New York service station owners to offer E85 ethanol -- a combination of alcohol and gasoline -- and other alternative fuels was signed into law July 31 by Gov. George Pataki.

NYSERDA - $24 Million Dollar State-Of-The Art Laboratory
In his 2006 Executive Budget, Governor George E. Pataki announced the creation of an alternative Fuel Vehicle Research Laboratory to be located in the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park (STEP) in the Town of Malta. This $24 million state-of-the-art laboratory will be a collaborative project of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).
